Thomas R. Jones receives Congressional Black Caucus Veterans’ Braintrust Award


On June 11, 2009, Illinois Secretary of State, Jesse White (The only Statewide elected official who is a veteran) and Leroy Colston II, Executive Director of the African American Naval Association formally presented the 2008 Congressional Black Caucus Veterans' Braintrust Award to Thomas R. Jones, Sr. The award pays tribute to Jones' efforts on behalf of WWII, Korean, Vietnam, Gulf, Iraq and Afghanistan War Veterans, their families and supporters, and for his historical fiction novel "Lost Survivor".
